RECYCLED PALLETS - STANDARD, 48X40

If you’re looking for a functional shipping platform with a substantial savings, then you need to look at recycled wood pallets. The 48x40 GMA Pallet is the workhorse across a broad spectrum of industries and comes in several different grades.

We are experts in pallet recycling and can provide you with the perfect pallet for your needs. Each grade of recycled pallet functions differently depending upon your palletizing equipment and the unit load design, as well as the needs of your entire supply chain. We will assist in evaluating your manufacturing process and the functional pallet needs downstream at your distribution facility and your customer. We want to make sure that the pallet grade you select is the most cost-effective solution and meets the needs of your entire supply chain, all the way to your customer.

Making that switch from other pallet options in the marketplace is a tough decision, but we have successfully assisted many companies with their full integration to recycled pallets.

AAA

This is a “one-time use” pallet that almost “looks like a new pallet.” The specifications are as follows:

  • Lead Boards on Top and Bottom – Should be mostly hardwood boards. Must be 6" boards and approx. 5/8" thick (+/- 1/16").
  • Interior Boards – Should be mostly hardwood boards. There must be a minimum of five (5) 4" boards or a combination of 4" and 6" boards, so that the spacing between the boards is approx. 2-3/4". All of the boards should be evenly spaced on the top deck. On the bottom deck there should be at least three (3) 4" boards or two (2) 6" boards, all evenly spaced on the interior of the bottom deck. All boards should be approx. 5/8" thick. It is possible to have some missing wood off the board. The board is only replaced when the missing wood exceeds 3/4" and extends greater than halfway between the two stringer boards.
  • Metal Connector Plates – Metal connector plates are allowed. Two pairs of plates, one on each side of the stringer, must be applied. Plates are only allowed in the area of the stringer foot (between the butt end of the stringer and the beginning of the notch) and in the center of the stringer between the notches. No plates are allowed above the notched area. The plates should not extend beyond the butt end of the runner, and also should not block the entry way of the notch. No more than two (2) sets of connector plates per pallet. NOTE – If the metal connector plates obstruct your palletization equipment, we can paint the plate black. If this is still a problem, please discuss the situation with your sales representative for other options.
  • Nails – No protruding nails. All nails should be flush with the pallet. All 6" boards are to have three (3) nails per junction and all 4" boards are to have two (2) nails per junction.
  • Pallet Appearance – Pallet should be free of grease, oil, dirt or any foreign debris. Any shrink wrap should be removed from the pallet. If the pallet is extremely weathered (i.e., grey in color) it cannot be a AAA pallet.

1ANP - (1A No Plate)

This pallet is very similar to the specifications of a AAA pallet, with two exceptions: first, the pallet will NOT have ANY connector plates; and second, the pallet appearance may be more grey and weathered then the AAA pallet. If you need any additional clarifications regarding the specification of the 1ANP, please talk with your representative.

Product Options

Heat Treating ISPM15

Due to international regulations, heat treatment is an increasing concern for companies using wood pallets for their export shipping. The international export standard, ISPM15, requires that all wood packaging material be heat-treated at a core temperature of 132.8º Fahrenheit for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Certification is Necessary for Compliance

Our IPPC certification allows us to stamp all heat-treated pallets in compliance with ISPM15. The stamp acts as the certificate to show the pallet has been heat-treated. No paper certificate is required.

Stenciling

We can provide stenciling on the stringer.

Paint Stripping

We can color-code your pallets with a paint stripe.

Banding

Metal or plastic banding in any configuration you would like.

Drop Trailer Programs

Rather than live unloaded, we can drop our trailers on your lot and you can unload them on your time. Let your salesperson know if you wish to take advantage of this program.
